Chem 3331: Organic Chemistry 2 Lecture

For non-chemistry majors. Topics include structure and reactions of alkyl halides, alcohols, ethers, carboxylic acids, aldehydes, ketones, and amines; introduction to the chemistry of heterocycles, carbohydrates, and amino acids; nomenclature of organic compounds; synthesis; and reaction techniques.

Chem 3331 are offered Summer 2008. The text is Organic Chemistry by Francis Carey, 7th ed. You should get both the text and the student solutions manual.

Classes begin June 2 and the term lasts 5 weeks. The professor is Dr. Tim Minger (minger@colorado.edu). For information about waitlists, contact Patty Feist (feist@colorado.edu). The lab course, Chem 3341, is a co-requisite for Chem 3331.
