This lecture course is for chemistry majors. Chem 3351 offers a small class and coverage in more depth. Topics include structure and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, and alkyl halides; nomenclature of organic compounds; stereochemistry; reaction mechanisms.

Text is Introduction to Organic Chemistry, Fourth Edition (revised printing), by Streitweiser, Heathcock, and Kosower. An accompanying solutions manual for the problems is recommended.
