Glassware: Erlenmeyer Flasks

Erlenmeyers are used for a variety of purposes. They are used as distillation receiving containers, to hold different layers in an extraction, as reaction flasks, to heat solvent for crystallizations, as the crystallization flask, etc.The sloping sides make them the best choice for a recrystallization flask.

Location: Student lab drawer equipment. You should have 6 Erlenmeyer flasks, varying in size from 25 mL to up to 250 mL. You can exchange one size for another size at any time at the stockroom.
