Pasteur pipets are used for a multitude of uses in the organic chemistry teaching labs. They come as two parts, a bulb and a glass pipet. They are great for transferring liquids from one container to another, removing liquid from drying agents or activated charcoal, loading sample onto a IR salt plate, etc.
The proper care and handling of Pasteur pipets is covered on a separate web page.

Location: Student lab drawer equipment. You should have 2-3 in your drawer. Always try to re-use them as often as possible. If they are broken and clean, put them in the "broken clean glassware" container which is on the floor by the trashcans in the lab room. If they are broken and dirty, or just so dirty that all of your attempts to clean them have failed, place them in the "broken contaminated glassware" 5 gallon plastic carboy on the back shelves of the lab room. If you need more, they are on the cart in the front of the stockroom.
Cost: you will never be charged for a Pasteur pipet or bulb.
